Denise Gibson

Founder

Denise is a veteran of more than forty years in the fitness industry and as Past President of the Utah Fitness Instructors Association, felt it very important to continue to bring the finest fitness education to the Intermountain area for a reasonable cost to fitness professionals. Thus, fitness.edu™ was launched to fulfill that mission.

She has taught at Salt Lake Community College in the Health and Lifetime Activities department for 24 years, the University of Utah from 1991-2012, and she has been teaching group fitness since the very beginning - the Jazzercise, Jane Fonda days!

She was a professional ballroom dancer for 8 years and continues her passion for dance, teaching at Salt Lake Community College, Murray Art Center (The MAC) and the Salt Lake County Employee Fitness Center, as well as group and private ballroom dance classes.

She also teaches Dance Fitness for OSHER at the University of Utah.

Laura
Vanderhoff

is ACE certified and has several YogaFit certifications as well as licensed to teach Zumba and Zumba Toning, Aqua, Circuit, Gold, Gold Toning and Zumba Tonic. She has also taught hip hop, kickbox and children's ballet. She grew up dancing in ballet companies and touring Europe. She joined the fitness.edu™ staff in 2011.

Wendy
Jones

graduated from Weber State University with a degree in

Exercise and Sport
Science. She holds a variety of certifications including AFAA Group Fitness, ACSM
Exercise Physiologist and several YogaFit Instructor Levels of Certification.

She enjoys teaching a variety of classes including strength, yoga, paddle board, cycling as well as other formats and is the Fitness Director at South Davis Recreation Center.

Paris

Gibson

graduated from the University of Utah. She is Corporate Event Manager at Domo, Inc. focusing on events in the tech industry. Prior to working at Domo she managed events for The Leonardo, a tech and art museum. Her additional experiences as a freelance photographer have given her an invaluable edge as the fitness.edu™ Marketing Leader.
